Chris Kennedy Publishing kicked off their brand new online store today, and feature quite a few of my titles there. Now, instead of relying solely on Amazon, you can purchase ebooks from CKP securely and avoid Amazon entirely. I know quite a few people who would like nothing more than to avoid them, so this is your chance to help cut out the middle man, so to speak. You can find the Kin Wars here.
Also, I survived my week long trip to Utah. The signing at Red Dot Firearms was a smashing success. There was even a flamethrower (which was scary as hell, but at the same time pretty awesome). I’ll post more about it in a few days. My brain is still reeling and trying to get back on Eastern Time.
There needs to be a viable alternative to Amazon. B&N would have been my first choice, but the pushed me away with their walled garden and breaking functionality on their Nooks with every update they pushed out. I used google play for awhile, and they’re still around, but I suspect they’ll do to their ebooks what they did to their video and music files. The only reason I went with Kindle was that it was waterproof. I still have both of my Nook NSTs, and they work fine. But I have an issue with dropping stuff and figured I should just get ahead of the next clutzy moment.
Amazon’s ease of use is what drew people in. With their new restrictions, though, and randomly pulling books for no reason (or arbitrary ones), people are looking at viable alternatives. Many authors are setting up secure online stores on their own websites now to sell their books, with many succeeding because almost everyone likes rooting for the underdog.
I back up all my eBooks. Well, almost all, I couldn’t get my Craig Thomas eBooks into Calibre. I should look into that more
Just a heads up. I clicked a couple links to give it a try out and got directed to Amazon. Salvage Title and Kevin Ikenberry’s non fiction on structure.
Yeah, not sure if all the books are on their online store or if just some. I know the Kin Wars are on their store but The Warp books aren’t. Other authors might be in the same boat.
