Last year, Larry Correia and I won Best Urban Fantasy Novel at the Imadjinn Awards for our novel Monster Hunter Memoirs: Fever. If I remember correctly, I also was a finalist for Best Anthology for Chicks in Tank Tops, but lost out on that one.
This year, I’m happy to say that I’m a finalist in three different categories! Mountain of Fire is up for Best Horror novel, Salvage Purgatory (coauthored with Kevin Steverson & Nick Steverson) is up for Best Science Fiction novel, and Side Hustle: Vol. 1 is up for Best Short Story Collection (Single Author).
Congrats to all the finalists! I know quite a few people on that list, and they’re all quality writers.
Since I’m a finalist for the second year in a row, I decided that this year I should attend the Imaginarium Convention in Louisville, Kentucky in July. I also adjusted my convention schedule to add CrashCityCon in Roanoke August 22-24 (yes, the weekend before Dragoncon), and found out that WyVaCon moved to September 6 in Wytheville, VA… oh I am going to HURT after that (Sept 4 is an infusion day).
On top of that, I have friends trying to convince me to attend P-Con in Texas from September 19-21… that is a lot of conventions in a very short amount of time. If I do go to P-Con, though, I’ll just be hanging out and not really paneling. They have plenty of panelists already, judging by their Guest of Honor (David Weber, and Jacob Holo is GoH 2.0). But it would be nice to see some people I only see once a year at best.
