I’ve got to get better about updating this.
For those of you who missed it, Dancing with Destruction is officially OUT and available everywhere you can buy a Baen book. It’s got stories from David Weber & Marisa Wolf, Jason Anspach & Nick Cole (Forgotten Ruin novella), Jacob Holo & Edie Skye, and more! These were some fantastic stories and it was a pleasure editing them.
I was informed this week that my next novel, co-authored with Melissa Olthoff, will be published in January 2026 from Baen Books. It’s the first book in The Bronze Legion series that we’re writing, and it is SUPER GOOD. It’s kinda silly how proud of this book we are. It’s also my longest novel ever written. We’re wrapping up final edits now before it goes to the copyeditor. It’s going to be in hardcover, with art from Pierluigi Abbondanza (it’s gorgeous!!!). We’re not announcing the title yet, though. More news will be coming in a few weeks… so probably my next update.
I’m heading out for Imaginarium next Thursday, then I’ll be traipsing up through Indiana before heading back. It’s a bit of a drive from eastern North Carolina. I’ll be hunting through various B&N to sign whatever stock they have on hand.
My next cancer surgery was rescheduled to September, after I return from P-Con. It worked out better that way. I won’t be trying to drive halfway across the country with a giant hole in my back.
Casper, my Japanese bobtail who turned 16 back in March, is starting to suffer from kidney failure. He’s doing okay for now, but he also just spent two days at the vet receiving IV fluids after his dental surgery. Considering he’s been there for every book except my very first two, I’m really not looking forward to trying to write without him sitting next to me. Curly is doing fine. I did the math and realized that he turned 10 this year. I feel like I just got him a year or two ago… in 2015.
We don’t do time math here.
