And Back To Good News!

Results from the lumbar puncture (part deux) are in and there is no lymphoma!

We were a little concerned because they hit us with that possibility over the weekend while at the hospital, but my oncologist appointment this morning went well and there isn’t any sign of it. The T-cells were from the immunotherapy drugs they had me on for the melanoma treatments, and the vision problems I’ve been having (and headaches) are related. They’re stopping the drugs for now (probably for good, since I’m past the critical midway point anyways) and now I’ll be on a full round of steroids to calm the inflammation of the eyes down. I also need to go get my vision rechecked to make sure my new prescription glasses actually work…

I won’t be going to CrashCityCon next weekend in Roanoke due to my inability to drive, and it doesn’t look like WyVaCon is on the table anymore either (haven’t heard anything from them, but they have a lot of other entertainers so I might just be dead weight at this point), so it looks like my only two conventions upcoming are Dragoncon and P-Con (and I’m not officially at P-Con, that is a mirage, Jason is not here, etc.).

I have an occupational therapist who is helping me strengthen my eyes back with exercises and whatnot (I did not know there were that many eye exercises you could do to strengthen them!) and I am supposed to be on limited screen time (20 minutes max before breaks), so we’ll see how that goes. When I get into a groove, well… #writerlife.

On the audio front, I managed to snag a terrific narrator for Bounty Hunter, the first book in the Quintus Fox series. The narrator has done the voice before (in an anthology I had a Fox short in) and he’s solid. Look for that this coming fall sometime. I’m very excited to get that out there.
