Sorry for the delay but I have been crazy busy the past month.
Larry Correia and I turned in the final draft, edits, and copyedits for MONSTER HUNTER MEMOIRS: FEVER to Baen last week. We did that turnaround in about four days which, if you know how slow publishing can be, had to have come close to setting a record. Instead of being a little behind schedule, we’re now looking good and everything is done. The eARC should come out from Baen in the next few weeks (yay!).
Libertycon 35 was this past weekend as well, and we’d been in Tennessee since June 16th, so 11 days of convention was… different. Lots of fun, and I’ll have a dedicated AAR for the con soon. At Libertycon Larry did a reading from FEVER, which seemed to have gone over well, and do an impromptu Q&A where Larry dragged my ass up there (I was happy sitting in the crowd). Might have let a tradecraft tricks out to the audience (you had to be there to understand) but overall, I think Larry’s fans are going to be very happy with this book. Release date is still October 3.
One thing I’ve been suggesting to people who like their local bookstore is to support them by pre-ordering FEVER through said bookstore. That way we still get paid (yay!), the local bookstore gets paid (double yay!), and if enough people order the book at the bookstore, they’ll order more copies and MORE people will be introduced to Chloe and Team Rhino, and Munster Hunter International in general (triple yay!).
At Libertycon there was also another announcement. Initially, I’d been placed in the next Black Tide Rising anthology, UNITED WE STAND, edited by John Ringo and Gary Poole. My story, Skirts & Shamblers, was a continuation of the short from WE SHALL RISE starring the girls of St. Dominic’s Prep. However, due to space limitations (my 10k word story miiiiight have grown to 15k words by mistake), my story was cut from the anthology. However, since the girls were hugely popular, I signed a contract to write a novel based on them with Baen Books. The novel, ON TOP A MOUNTAIN OF FIRE, is currently slated for probable 2024 release. I’m super stoked about this, especially since both John and Gary gave their approval.
So while cranking out edits for FEVER, I’ve also been furiously writing away on the new novel. I have a late Fall deadline, so I’m looking good. But with Dragoncon right around the corner, I know how hectic my life is about to become. Meanwhile, I’ve still got two anthologies to edit — MONSTER HUNTER FILES 2, and A SYMPHONY OF CHAOS. The first anthology is still being corralled, but the second should be turned in around the same time as my BTR novel, so… you know? 2024 is looking like a banner year.

Looking forward to all of the above! Saw you at LCon but wasn’t that one heckin busy con? We were both going somewheres…
