Brainfart Week

Total. Mental. Brainfart.

FandomFest went well enough I suppose, though half of my time there was spent trying to find my panel rooms. The hotel was a rat maze that begged to be used in a horror flick ala Saw. Jigsaw would have a field day with the crazy assed layout of the Galt House Hotel. Then, upon being in my panels, a total of 15 people showed up. That’s 10 less then last year. If not for the fact that I have a lot of writer and publishing friends who attend the con, I don’t think that I would go. Oh, and apparently the masses downstairs looking for autographs of celebrities didn’t realize that there was a whole convention to enjoy. With authors. Who won’t charge for autographs. Huh. Who knew?

The trip to Kiawah Island was a blast. Had a great time and had some excellent news come to me while I was there. Well, lot’s of news concerning work, life and writing.

I sold another story last week, though I don’t have contract in hand yet so I can’t say who it is with.

…and I’m stepping back from reviewing for a bit, primarily because I have too many books and stories out there right now. I can’t review quite a few of the submissions I receive so I usually send them off to Barb, but the amount I’ve been receiving has actually ballooned upwards enough that I have to limit the number of reviews I do so that I have time to write my own stuff (plus update this site, which I keep forgetting to do with regularity).

Next week I’ll be featured at the Cabin Goddess’ Fourth Wall Friday as I take a look at how my muse motivates me to write faster. It was a lot of fun to write and I can’t wait to see what people think about it. It’ll probably be up on Friday (hence the name, you know?) and I’ll probably be slathering it across the web. I do that on occasion.

Cats missed me so much while I was gone that…. they shredded my bathroom rug. And that was about it, though Wally has been oddly clingy the past week. I’m not complaining, it’s just unusual.

Hrm… not much else going on that I want to share here.
