Thanks

I’m supposed to be raking up leaves and bagging them so the city can pick them up. It’s cold out, though, and I don’t feel like it.

In (edit: ONE WEEK… apparently my math is as bad as I remember it being in college) two weeks the next Freehold Universe anthology, FREEHOLD: RESISTANCE will be coming out from Baen Books. It’ll be available through all major booksellers and it arriving just in time to serve as a stocking stuffer for the reader in your house. The last Freehold anthology was a national bestseller. Having read the stories in this one, I believe it has potential to be a NYT bestseller.

In other news, my first baby kaiju book, titled THE CHRISTMAS SURPRISE, is almost done and will be out and available to purchase in the next few weeks as well. This has been a project over a year in the making and, though it’s a small book (think Diary of a Wimpy Kid length) and appropriate for kids of all ages, though I did sneak in a few humorous jokes that will make adults chuckle and go right over the heads of children.

Go me.

Last Friday my friend Kevin Steverson, he of the country band fame (yeah, it’s not my type of music, but they’re nice guys) had a book come out. It’s the fifth book in his Salvage Title universe (though the start of a new trilogy set within the universe) and is titled HIDE THE LIGHTNING, and is published by CKP (Chris Kennedy Publishing). I would recommend picking it up for anyone who is into really interesting science fiction.

Also, this Friday the sequel to GUNBOAT DIPLOMACY (my book with Jamie Ibson) is coming out by Kevin Ikenberry and Quincey Allen. Titled ENFORCER, it covers the events of Hr’ent the Oogar Peacekeeper and his journey to becoming a legend. You don’t have to read our book to read this one, since we all had a suspicion Kevin and Quincey would finish their book before we would.

So much going on over the next few weeks. In the United States this week is Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my friends and family, who have helped me along the way, and I am thankful for all the fans who have supported me throughout this journey.
