I owe Jamie Ibson a short story (…UNTIL THE WOLVES ARRIVE) but, as usual, I’m just not feeling it right now. Which is weird because when we were plotting this thing out, it was arguably the best thing ever. Quintus Fox and Jamie’s character Orph Buffington teaming up in a two-part story duology? Sign me up! But… *sigh*
It’s not that I don’t want to write, I just need a break. A short one, which is probably going to be sooner rather than later since I’m probably going to be incapacitated due to surgery in the next could of weeks as they try to fix my bicep muscle (brachialis muscle, for those who are curious).
Fun fact — you can tear your bicep picking up anything!
See? I told you I can procrastinate like a boss.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to use “unable to type” as an excuse to not write, since I own DragonSpeak and have been using it for a year or so now. Fortunately, other than Jamie’s short and one I owe William Alan Webb (the sequel to my short story… uh… crap, what was it called? Oh, right — LOS BANDITOS, set in the STANDING FAST ON FOREIGN SHORES anthology), I don’t have anything pressing due. So I can focus on recovery.
I am editing another anthology, but details on that (other than the title, which will probably be A SYMPHONY OF CHAOS) will remain vague for the time being. I hope to have all the details nailed down soon-ish. If I get the names I want, it’s going to be the most Baen anthology ever.
Don’t forget — March 10 is release day for THE MISFITS, which is the immediate follow-up to ON A CLOUDY DAY. There is almost zero time passage between the two and, as usual, since this is a Four Horsemen Universe no, I would not recommend this be the first book of the series you grab.
