FantaSci, once again, was a blast to attend. First off, let's congratulate Joel Lyons and his staff for a smooth-running weekend. Any problems which arose with programming was handled swiftly and promptly, and the dining out experience was something I'll definitely never forget (if you were there, you know what I'm talking about...). I know … Continue reading FantaSci 2022 AAR — The Clumsy Idiot Edition

One More Short Story
"Los Banditos", my short story set in William Alan Webb's Last Brigade Universe, is going to come out in the Standing Fast On Foreign Shores anthology soon. I turned this one in the other day and it's a bit of a two-parter, though with enough meat to carry it as a standalone if need be. … Continue reading One More Short Story
The Executioners Release Date
THE EXECUTIONERS officially has a release date. My latest novel -- written with Matt Novotny -- will be coming out on April 29, 2022, from Seventh Seal Press. It's a brand new Four Horsemen novel set in the "Sagas" storyline, and runs concurrent to GUNBOAT DIPLOMACY (the one I wrote with Jamie Ibson). Indeed, you … Continue reading The Executioners Release Date
Short Story Sold
My short story, "Hard Bounty", was accepted into the upcoming WE DARE 4: WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE anthology! Edited by Jamie Ibson and Chris Kennedy, it should be out sometime this summer. I was in WE DARE 1 and WE DARE 2: SEMPER PARATUS, but this is an all-new story set in the universe of … Continue reading Short Story Sold
Who Dares, Wins (and other stuff)
I need to get better at updating more regularly. There are dozens of people wondering what's going on. I keep starting, then stopping, an essay on the Ukrainian-Russian War. I don't have all the information, which means a good chunk of the essay would be based on my own historical knowledge, presumptions, and prejudices of … Continue reading Who Dares, Wins (and other stuff)
Just the Average February Update
Just a quick update letting everyone know I'm still (somehow) alive. THE EXECUTIONERS was turned in and is now awaiting its release date. It's an exciting Four Horsemen novel with lots of 'splodey bits, and written with Matt Novotny. My guess? Maybe May, possibly June. Not sure yet. Once I have the release date and … Continue reading Just the Average February Update
Crazy Train to the South
What a crazy few weeks it has been! Packing up to move was an adventure, to say the least. It was one of those last-minute "Oh crap, we're leaving in 3 days and we're not finished packing!" sort of things. 1 star out of 5, do not recommend. But with the help of our friends … Continue reading Crazy Train to the South
2021 Year In Review
So... yeah. That happened. I have to admit, when the year started I was full of hope. 2020 had sucked hard enough for three years, so I figured 2021 would be a lot better. In some regards, it was. I finished two books and almost completed three others. I actually attended two conventions last year, … Continue reading 2021 Year In Review
Merry Christmas
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas today.
Worldcon 2023
I enjoy kicking a hornet's nest. Seriously. Outside of hating the Red Sox and Patriots (eh, New England in general... and I'll throw New York into it just to piss both of them off), it's probably my favorite past time. But this? This is gold. I couldn't have gotten this level of schadenfreude if I'd … Continue reading Worldcon 2023
SERVANTS OF WAR Book Review
DISCLAIMER: This review was an awkward one for me to write for many reasons. I wasn't going to publish this after I wrote it. One of the primary reasons for my hesitation, naturally, that this is a book written by a author I am currently writing a book with (Larry Correia), and my review might … Continue reading SERVANTS OF WAR Book Review
Christmas Ordering
Just a few quick reminders... USPS runs slow this time of the year. If you want a print copy of A CHRISTMAS SURPRISE to have before Dec 24, you probably should order by this Friday to make certain it'll arrive in time.In that same vein, remember it might take longer if you're shipping to Hawaii … Continue reading Christmas Ordering
Unnecessary Hate
So I've seen a lot of hate directed towards two new television series which have come out the past week -- the live action remake of COWBOY BEBOP, and the adaptation of THE WHEEL OF TIME. Having seen both, I have opinions (not that anyone cares... well, one of my most visited posts ever on … Continue reading Unnecessary Hate
The Mysteriously Disappearing Author
"Where has Jason been?" I'm sure someone asked. In fact, I'm almost positive I heard it come from the peanut gallery. Well, I turned in the final draft of CHICKS IN TANK TOPS to Baen Books on Thursday, so that's eaten up a lot of my time. I also traveled to another state for a … Continue reading The Mysteriously Disappearing Author
FactoryCon 2021 AAR — Writer’s Retreat Edition
I just got back from FactoryCon 2021 yesterday and man, Chris Kennedy Publishing knows how to do a convention. For those of you who don't know, CKP is the overall publisher of imprints Bloodmoon Press, Theogony Books, Seventh Seal Press... it's actually quite an impressive list. They're always looking for authors and if you sign … Continue reading FactoryCon 2021 AAR — Writer’s Retreat Edition
