So Larry Correia book bombed me today as part of the Sad Puppies 3 slate (the Campbell Award for Best New Author), which was absolutely awesome. It’s really cool when someone of Larry’s caliber tells their fans “Hey, check these authors out too.”
The only downside (a minor one, to be sure) is he linked to Kaiju Apocalypse, which — while not a bad book by far and is one of my highest sellers — it’s not the one I would have recommended to get a grasp of my style and voice. I would have gone with Murder World: Kaiju Dawn as the “this feels like Jason” novel, or even talked more about the 5 short stories I had published last year.
But it’s all good. I’m very happy to be on the slate and that people are buying the book, which means I make money. I like money. Money let’s me write more. No money means I am just scribbling words on a napkin and telling people that I’m a writer… wait, I do that now.
Never mind.
