The Ongoing Saga of a World Class Scumbag

Seriously, I can’t make this stuff up. If I submitted this sort of Machiavellian scheme to my publisher in book format she would laugh at me and tell me to make it more believable.

I predicted in a blog post back on Feb 16 that scumbag extraordinaire, Jason Sanford, wrote his hit piece on Toni Weisskopf for two reasons — first, to get Toni uninvited from Worldcon as Editor Guest of Honor, and secondly, to get acclaim and applause because of the upcoming award season. A lot of people agreed then with my prediction, though others (who shall remain nameless) mocked and derided me.

Lo and behold, the Nebula Award finalists were announced today, and wouldn’t you feckin’ know it but scumbag extraordinaire Jason Sanford is a finalist in the category of Best Short Story. WHAT A FECKIN’ COINCIDENCE, RIGHT?!

I mean, what are the odds?

Once more am I reminded why I will never, ever join the SFWA and, should they ever try to give me an award again, I will tell them where to shove said award.

  1. This is my shocked face.

I predicted he’d get a nom too, but I was thinking it was too late for a Nebula and was expecting a Hugo for him. But, still, not at all surprised they gave him a nom.
