The Sixth Stage — Indifference

They announced the 2021 Hugo Finalists last week. I almost missed the announcement (and considering my friends in the industry, the fact that none of them are really talking about it says more than anything I can). Fortunately for me, I’m pretty much indifferent towards 90% of the awards out there now, so I didn’t really care who the finalists were..

Plugging away at, uh, six current works in progress at the same time right now. Four of them are set in the JTF 13 universe. I’m taking my time with these because they aren’t due for a bit. I’m also working on the next two 4HU books. The first, THE EXECUTIONERS, is set about the same time as GUNBOAT DIPLOMACY and actually shares a scene. I’ve already started it and it’s motoring along smoothly. The other is the third Kakata Korps book, KIN OF THE HUNT, starring everyone’s favorite mercenary, Sunshine. I’m hoping to have both of these done and turned in before the end of summer.

Other than that, not a lot going on. Still working on the CHICKS IN TANK TOPS anthology for Baen Books, and signed the contract for the MONSTER HUNTER MEMOIRS: FEVER novel with Larry Correia.

On the home front, the new roof will be put in at the end of the month (yay!). Next month is FantaSci, the convention in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since Libertycon cancelled this year and Dragoncon is still uncertain, this might be the only convention I get to go to in 2021.
