Coming January 2026 from Baen Books (Briefings are the worst... but hey, new combat armor!) The briefing was short and sweet, to the point, and completely unlike anything Tavi had sat through during ACS back on Mars Primus. It would be a full drop for Bravo Company, with 4th and 5th Squads being selected to … Continue reading TO TREAD OBSIDIAN SHORES — Snippet 17

Coming January 2026 from Baen Books (These legionnaires are insane...) Exactly five minutes later Tavi was out in the common area of the pod. Coming January 2026 from Baen Books (Welcome to the Bronze, Tavi!) Mitzi blushed and ducked her head a few times apologetically, an almost instinctive movement, before looking at Tavi. “Thanks again for all your help, Legionnaire,” she whispered. She shooed him out of the common room, and he abruptly found himself in the corridor. A … Continue reading TO TREAD OBSIDIAN SHORES — Snippet 15

Coming January 2026 everywhere Baen books are sold As she marched down the corridor, the strap of her bag slipped, and she yanked it back up with an annoyed grimace. Tavi quickly caught up, once again placing himself at her left, and held out his hand. “I can carry your bag for you, ma’am.” Campbell … Continue reading TO TREAD OBSIDIAN SHORES — Snippet 13

Coming January 2026 from Baen Books (who let these pesky civilians on the ship?) Blue clapped Tavi on the shoulder to break his trance and showed him how to pull down the narrow jump seat and strap in. As soon as he was settled, his gaze went right back outside the cockpit. “Thank you, ma’am,” … Continue reading TO TREAD OBSIDIAN SHORES — Snippet 12

Coming January 2026 to a bookstore near you! Blue casually swiped through the messages, but straightened up abruptly when she saw the last one was from her grandfather. She honestly hadn’t expected to hear anything further from the old man, who was notoriously reclusive and somewhat of a luddite when it came to using technology. … Continue reading TO TREAD OBSIDIAN SHORES — Snippet 9

CHAPTER ONE The Hotshot LAUNCH TERMINAL DIACRIA, MARS PRIMUS If everything had gone to plan, Lieutenant Astra Eliassen would never have joined the Legion. “Yes, sir!” Sergeant Buckholz grinned from ear to ear. “Jeffe, Aires? You heard the captain. Suit up. 5 Authors You Should Be Reading Right Now
Ugh, that is such a clickbaity headline, I'm tempted to change it before I hit "publish". If it still says "5 Authors You Should Be Reading Right Now" then congratulations, you've seen that my trollishness outweighs my maturity level by a factor of ten. A few on this list are brand new. Others have been … Continue reading 5 Authors You Should Be Reading Right Now
Another Book Release Day
These things are coming at us almost every week now it seems. Best part? This isn't the last book release for me this month. But I'm not worried about what's coming out Jan 21, no. I'm celebrating the release of GUNBOAT DIPLOMACY, co-authored with the amazing Jamie Ibson. It's Book 2 of the Four Horsemen … Continue reading Another Book Release Day
The Match of the Century
I've had to step back from social media this past week. It's not for anything bad. It's just quickly becoming a time sink where I spend more time responding to... whatever somebody is butthurt about this week instead of writing. It's why I like this website. My home, my rules, and people don't have to … Continue reading The Match of the Century
Resist
Only two more days until the FREEHOLD: RESISTANCE anthology comes out. I'm super stoked about this one, since my story "The Prayer Wheel", is possibly one of my favorite short stories I've ever written. I also signed a contract to be in the next Freehold Universe anthology, tentatively titled FREEHOLD: DEFIANCE. I have one short … Continue reading Resist
