Okay I thought I was done for the week but then agent extraordinaire Mike Kabongo of the OnyxHawke Agency posted a very well-written article about why B&N is failing as a business model. Me being me, I had to post a link. Mike's got some valid points, especially the difference between readers in Massachusetts and Colorado and what … Continue reading The Agent Weighs In

Jason’s Being Lazy Today
Hey, we all have those days. Mine just come in bunches. You might also know them as "weeks". So instead of busting my butt trying to come up with a topic (other than the website layout update), I'm going to steer you to other bloggers and writer websites. First, Sarah Hoyt talks about writing to … Continue reading Jason’s Being Lazy Today
New Layout
Changed the format of the site a bit this morning. The old style, while nice, was a bit stale. This new one is pretty cool, I think. Thoughts?
Bob Boan
Not sure how many people click the author links over to the right there, but Bob Boan just recently updated his website to feature some more links to his books and reviews. He's a nice guy who I oftentimes call whenever I'm having physics trouble. Go and check it out.
Surgery Tomorrow
Going in for surgery tomorrow morning for the infected wisdom tooth. Apparently it's ready to cause the entire jaw to become infected. Swell. Tomorrow night (less than 8 hours after surgery) we're opening My Fair Lady to a sold out house. Oh God. I'll have a full post, titled Surgical Precision, up by Saturday talking … Continue reading Surgery Tomorrow
Oh, And One More Thing…
...I'll be doing two books reviews here in the next few days, as well as uploading a new interview with a NYT bestselling author (yes, you can probably who I coerced into doing an interview... that poor bastard). I'll be reviewing "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins, and "Under the Dome" by Stephen King. Guess … Continue reading Oh, And One More Thing…
Distracted
Have you noticed I've been quiet? No? Damn... Just about to start tech week for My Fair Lady right now, so my brain has been in "acting mode" and not "creating literary crap known as Cordoverse" mode. I have done some writing, not a terrible amount, but enough to make me say "Damn, I suck … Continue reading Distracted
Royalties VS Realities
Great, great post by Dave Freer over at the Mad Genius Club about the realities of royalties and the coming e-book revolution. Have a gander! I completely agree with Dave on this, by the way. I'll have more on this later, once I get my head wrapped around the legal complexities of this. But my … Continue reading Royalties VS Realities
Never Give In
So in the immortal words of Winston Churchill: Never give in.
Monster Hunter Vendetta… I Read It, Have You?
Addendum: I can say that Larry, because of you, little children will no longer look at David the Gnome in the same light ever again. You officially killed my one happy childhood memory. That single, lonely spark of joy in my dark and harrowing youth. That innocent and carefree memory. That glorious moment when I was able to sing along to a song with love in my heart and tears of happiness in my eye. Where I could always find David... the Gnome.
Quick Update
I will have a new interview up sometime in the following week. I think military SF fans will be immensely pleased with who it is. Celebrated my 32nd birthday yesterday with friends and family. Basically went out to eat and then to rehearsals, where I managed to talk the chorus of My Fair Lady from … Continue reading Quick Update
Update on the Guest Bloggers
Well, I've got one okay and another interview set up, so it's a start. Both of the authors have written something that I have really enjoyed in the past two years (or published something, which is just as good... everyone knows it takes normal people years to finish writing a book) and I'm looking forward … Continue reading Update on the Guest Bloggers
Guest Bloggers
Over the next few months, I'm going to try to secure some published authors and/or agents to contribute to the blog, possibly including some publishers as well. Hopefully this will open more doors and answer questions aspiring writers may (or may not) have. The call is out... who would you want to guest blog here?
Balancing Act
I like strong women characters, women who kick butt yet aren't afraid to admit they would be lost in a kitchen (eat that, Martha Stewart!).
Fan Boy Moment
When I saw his name, I think I let loose a very girlish squeal. Very girlish, one that would have had me beaten and emasculated by some of my manlier friends.
