Getting a rejection letter is hard. Quite frankly, it's one of the worst feelings a writer will go through in their career. That feeling of utter failure, the emotional kick to the stomach that your baby just isn't good enough. The anguish and despair upon reading "Dear [[insert name here]], we regret to inform you..." … Continue reading Hard vs Soft Rejection (and why the difference matters)

So the last few weeks have been.... really odd. We lost Eric Flint on July 17, which was a rude shock to us all. He'd just called the office the week before to talk (Eric was one of the few authors who regularly called the office) and he'd been looking forward to going home and … Continue reading The Month That Was Too Long

I have found the next amazing party game for nerds! I've been hearing a lot about this game for the past year or so, primarily because I know the game's creators, Lydia and David Sherrer. The game, which was successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter, is one of the fun, fast-paced games that you can do in … Continue reading Cat Magic: The Game Review

**Forewarning -- if I didn't mention you by name here, it's not because I wasn't happy to see you but because I completely forgot and I am an idiot.** This year at Libertycon was a special one for me. They don't have a massive programming schedule uploaded yet, but the schedules for individual authors is ready to go. As usual, I'm going to be pretty busy this Libertycon -- and I wouldn't have it any other way. That blurred out section? Don't worry about that section. 😀 I'll be out and about the entire … Continue reading Libertycon 34 Schedule

What's new in the land of Córdova, you ask? Well, quite a bit actually. This past Tuesday the anthology STANDING FAST ON FOREIGN SHORES was released from Dingbat Publishing. Things happen, though, so that release date … Continue reading It Keeps Food in the Kitchen

It continues … Continue reading More Covers!

Received confirmation of my Attending Professional status for this year's Dragoncon in Atlanta, Georgia. Let's hope the city doesn't enact some asinine rules like before. I'm also looking at possibly attending Fencon in Dallas-Ft. Worth after they announced Larry Correia to be their Literary Guest of Honor. We'll see. I'm going to have to have … Continue reading The Week Keeps Getting Better
