I'll be at FantaSci on March 24 -- 26, 2023 in Durham, NC. I might be pain-addled (and drug-addled), depending on if I have surgery the week before. It's a pretty busy FantaSci this year (yay!), so if I am running to another room and can't talk for more than a few seconds, I apologize … Continue reading FantaSci Schedule
Book Finished and Cover Reveal
Kevin Ikenberry and I turned in THE MISFITS late last night to our publisher, which is the direct sequel to ON A CLOUDY DAY. This will conclude a roughly 27 book and anthology story arc which began for both of us way back in the first Four Horsemen universe anthology A Fistful of Credits, edited … Continue reading Book Finished and Cover Reveal
Audiobook is out! January was nuts!
January has been one busy month! As you know, Bob, CHICKS IN TANK TOPS came out January 3 and continues to do well. Response has been amazing and the authors all contributed awesome stories for it. I'm hoping it does well enough that I can do a second one. Esther and I already have the … Continue reading Audiobook is out! January was nuts!
On A Cloudy Day Is Out Now!
You heard right. ON A CLOUDY DAY, Book 3 of the Phoenix Initiative and my fifth Four Horsemen Universe book to date, dropped today and already is up to #2 in Hot New Releases. I was going to talk about how I was going to take down number one but then saw it was Salman … Continue reading On A Cloudy Day Is Out Now!
I Thought It Had Only Been Two Weeks!
I thought only two weeks had passed since I'd last updated. I was WRONG. Oops. My bad. I'm on a vacation of sorts right now (first time I've done this and not been at a science fiction convention in a long time) but I figured I would update everyone on the crazy life of Cordova. … Continue reading I Thought It Had Only Been Two Weeks!
Book Release Day!
(...a day late...) Yesterday the long-awaited CHICKS IN TANK TOPS was released into the wild and immediately shot up to #1 for Hot New Releases on Amazon. Which is awesome! Then to top it off, later on it went up to #379 overall across all of Barnes & Noble ebooks -- in spite of their … Continue reading Book Release Day!
Novel Turned In and A Year in Review
I took a brief break from doing the AI presidents because I almost missed a book deadline. Fortunately, my coauthor reminded me that we needed to have it done by Christmas and we got it. 111,000 words of mayhem and carnage, and the next Four Horsemen book coauthored with Kevin Ikenberry is finished. ON A … Continue reading Novel Turned In and A Year in Review
The Midjourney Presidents — Part 2
So while playing around with the artificial intelligence Midjourney, I realized that focusing a single painter on all the presidents was, well, a tad boring. So I took a poll amongst a few friends and came up with alternates to be posted at a later date. I actually ran out of hours this month on … Continue reading The Midjourney Presidents — Part 2
The Midjourney Presidents — Part 1
I've been playing around with the AI painting program Midjourney (instead of writing... I know, I know) and decided I was going to do a gallery of presidents. I actually started with the more recent ones before realizing it would be better to start at the beginning. I resisted the urge to start with King … Continue reading The Midjourney Presidents — Part 1
Goodbye Military Science Fiction & Fantasy
There's a lot of doom and gloom these days. I guess it's that time of the year? The biggest one I am hearing about right now is the removal of the Best Military SF & Fantasy Novel category for the Dragon Awards. There were other awards removed and/or merged with others, but this is the … Continue reading Goodbye Military Science Fiction & Fantasy
Snuck One Past You
I can hear the horrified gasps already. If you come to the website regularly (which is, like, a dozen or so of you) you might have noticed there's a new page on the "About Me" tab. In fact, if you click it, you'll see that there is a completely free short story sitting there for … Continue reading Snuck One Past You
Chicks in Tank Tops reviewed at Publishers Weekly
TL;DR edition -- they loved it! Thanks to all the contributors for making this an amazing anthology. Chicks in Tank Tops Edited by Jason Cordova. Baen, $18 trade paper (320p) ISBN 978-1-982192-35-8 Cordova (Kin Wars) effortlessly picks up the tradition of Esther Friesner, who edited the seven previous Chicks in Chainmail anthologies. These 14 stories … Continue reading Chicks in Tank Tops reviewed at Publishers Weekly
Factorycon 2022 AAR — Shenanigans Aplenty
(I was so excited about next year that I forgot what year it was... yeah, I blame lack of coffee) So not entirely about Factorycon, but hey -- I'm gonna talk about it! See? First line and I'm already knee-deep in shenanigans. Factorycon 2023 actually started off early for us. Canadian co-author extraordinaire Jamie Ibson … Continue reading Factorycon 2022 AAR — Shenanigans Aplenty
A Wild Time in the Old Town This Month(ish)
...or something. I don't know. Wild for me now would have been mild for twenty-something Jason. That guy's a jerk, with all that energy and no bad back or neck. However, there is some exciting news, so I've got that going for me. Twenty-something Jason was an aimless shifter. First, the very first anthology I've … Continue reading A Wild Time in the Old Town This Month(ish)
