That's right, not one but TWO short stories have been accepted into upcoming anthologies! The first, titled A Chosen Moment Before, is a time traveling, alien invasion, Quantum Leap-like story to be featured in the Cannon Publishing Military Science Fiction and Fantasy Spring 2019 anthology. Long title, but I'm certain that the publisher will be … Continue reading Two Short Story Sales

I had an absolute BLAST at my first ever Marscon, which is held in Williamsburg, VA, this weekend. It's Sunday evening so technically still the weekend of Marscon but you get the idea. The best part about this con is that I didn't know I was going until Thursday night. I only got to go because … Continue reading Marscon 2019 AAR

Today I officially cracked the halfway point for Homeguard, Book 4 of the Kin Wars Saga. To say I'm giddy is an understatement, primarily because usually the second half of the book flies by at a faster pace for me. Considering that the first half took less than two months, my goal of having a … Continue reading Homeguard Update

2018 was a very strange year for me. I left my job of 3 years, was fired as Head Basketball coach just before the season started, and had one of my most successful publishing years since 2014. 3 novels were released and I was featured in 2 anthologies, and sold another short story to Baen … Continue reading 2018 In Review

One of the really cool things about being an author is that you can create your worlds at any time and work on them. Even if you don't have all the information in the books, it's always handy to have as a reference in the background for yourself when you're writing a book or a … Continue reading Countdown Excitement

I haven't updated the look or feel to the site in almost a decade, so I figured it was as good of a time as any. I decided to reduce the image-heavy main page for my mobile users and focused instead on promoting the content within. I'll be fleshing out more details within the subheaders … Continue reading A New Look

In case you haven't noticed, there's a popup ad when you go to leave the website now. If you have a popup blocker, then you're missing out on a free short story set in the Kin Wars universe titled I, Behemoth. This story is set roughly 30 years before the events of Wraithkin and stars one of my first reader's … Continue reading Free Short Story

Picked up my tickets for Dragoncon 2019 already. I'm prepared! Sorta. The sales for Deathlords have been pretty solid, though it's slowing down now. The nice thing, though, is that a lot of people purchased Wraithkin at Dragoncon, so I'll see another uptick in sales as people move through the series. I'm already hard at work on book 4, … Continue reading Random September Update

Worst. Author. Ever. So I received my tentative Dragoncon schedule a few weeks back and promptly forgot to post it here. Yep, I'm a moron. I'm also on the fantasy track more than anything else, which is fine by me. There's plenty of fantasy in The Warp. Title: The Pen and Sword: Arming the Written Word Description: Writing … Continue reading Failure To Update Ver. 1.2.1

I was added to the guest list for a somewhat local (I say somewhat because it's a 3.5 hour drive from my house) at the end of the month. WyvaCon, hosted in Wytheville, VA, will be dealing with the invasion of the Cordova on July 27 -- 29. I'm on a few panels (and I … Continue reading Last Second Con Addition

As always, Brandy and her crew put on one amazing shindig and I had a great time! It was especially notable because not only did I manage to sell a lot of stickers to support my campaign election, but I got to hear a massive HOON! in the process. But I'm getting ahead of myself … Continue reading Libertycon XXXI AAR

First, some background. I have quite a few publishers (fourteen to be exact), with the largest being my Japanese publisher Takeshobo. They did the Japanese translation and distribution of the Kaiju Apocalypse trilogy as a single book. I'm not hear to talk about them, though. The publishers I'm talking about today, however, are Chris Kennedy Publishing and Baen … Continue reading Exciting News

It's that time of the year again. Time to dust off the lanyard and hoist the black flag, because we're going to Libertycon! (probably) This year's schedule is packed. I'm busy from the moment the con opens at 1:00PM Friday afternoon until closing ceremonies on Sunday. I will be out and about like a madman and … Continue reading Libertycon 2018 Schedule
