It's tough to write during the dog days of summer. Especially when you're like me and don't function well in the heat. I swear my next house will have central A/C and good insulation. I've been doing a lot of quiet "behind the scenes" stuff when it comes to writing the past few weeks. Primarily, … Continue reading Dog Days

The Salvage Universe, created by Kevin Steverson, is really expanding. I was fortunate enough to have been invited to participate in an anthology in the universe. Today the cover was revealed and it is very retro 60's science fiction. I'm a huge fan of this style and really enjoy it. "It Takes All Kinds" will … Continue reading It Takes All Kinds

HOMEGUARD, Book 4 of the Kin Wars Saga, just had the audiobook drop over on Audible. Rob Saladino narrates the final book of the saga once more and, as usual, does a bang-up job of it. You should burn one of those audible credits on it. Also... in the next few days I'll be having … Continue reading Audiobook is Live

I received my first Guest of Honor for a convention this coming September. I'll be the Guest of Honor at WyvaCon, a science fiction and gaming convention in Wytheville, VA this coming September 18--19, 2021. I've been an attending guest the past few times I attended and always had a good time. I'm really looking … Continue reading Guest of Honor

I've been taking a break from a lot of things online as I rushed to finish a short story. The story, "A Most Dangerous Game," should be seen in an upcoming Salvage Universe anthology (created by Kevin Steverson) in the near-future. I was happy with it and the editor enjoyed the story, so hopefully the … Continue reading A Month Already? Oops.

WE SHALL RISE, the third anthology set in John Ringo's New York Times bestselling Black Tide Rising universe, drops today. In it you'll find stories from Kevin J. Anderson & Kevin Ikenberry, Brendon DuBois, Jody Lynn Nye, Michael Z. Williamson & Stephanie Osborne, Mike Massa, Kacey Ezell, Christopher L. Smith & Brent Roeder, Lydia Sherrer, … Continue reading Book Release Day

I'll be attending Fantasci this coming weekend (May 21-23) in Raleigh-Durham, NC. Here's my panel schedule (note: I'm not entirely sure what all the panels are about, so I'll be winging it on a few -- not that I typically prepare for a panel anyway). Friday 2:00PM -- Jump Shot (w/ Ian J. Malone, Stephen … Continue reading Fantasci 2021 Schedule

They announced the 2021 Hugo Finalists last week. I almost missed the announcement (and considering my friends in the industry, the fact that none of them are really talking about it says more than anything I can). Fortunately for me, I'm pretty much indifferent towards 90% of the awards out there now, so I didn't … Continue reading The Sixth Stage — Indifference

(Side note before we begin: why is my title font so emboldened, wordpress? I'm not sure I'm liking your "new and improved" look. Kinda reminds me of the train wreck which Facebook turned in to) This is no April Fools Day joke... or is it? 😀 I've been hinting around at a few Sooper Seekrit … Continue reading Exciting Update

Seriously, I can't make this stuff up. If I submitted this sort of Machiavellian scheme to my publisher in book format she would laugh at me and tell me to make it more believable. I predicted in a blog post back on Feb 16 that scumbag extraordinaire, Jason Sanford, wrote his hit piece on Toni … Continue reading The Ongoing Saga of a World Class Scumbag

Sam Smith (full name -- Samuel Collingwood Smith, but that's a lot to type out...) posted a brilliant takedown of the individual who launched a slanderous, defaming, and fraudulent attack against Toni Weisskopf and Baen Books after the whole kerfuffle went down two weeks ago. You can find that initial article here. It was a … Continue reading An Update, In Repose

I'm too pissed off to write. Thankfully, Larry Correia seems to write better when angry. When I get mad, I typically clean my house. The damn kitchen is going to sparkle when I'm done today. Dear WorldCon,You are cowards.Several years ago, because some of you were angry at me for getting a bunch of people … Continue reading Fallout From The Slanderous Article of Jason Sanford Ends Any Respectability For Worldcon

Well, now that all the kerfuffle is over and done with (he said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice), we can go back to the things people come to this site for in the first place -- writing. I haven't gotten much creative writing done this past week. Yes, I'm a slacker. I … Continue reading Back To Work
